A skiing prosthesis for the disabled

MEDI-REHATEK find out that scientists design a skiing prosthesis for the disabled.Normal people are very easy to carry out the movement, for people with disabilities are more difficult. BMW also specifically designed a carbon fiber wheelchair for the disabled.

MEDI-REHATEK will introduce a skiing prosthesis for the disabled, which meet the needs of people with the disabled who want to ski.

Designer Thomas Belhacene found many simple movements but it was difficult for the disabled. So he designed this ski prosthesis SOLEIS that is specialized for the disabled.

SOLEIS is made from titanium alloy with sling straps and floating straps, as well as anti-impact devices, which are equivalent to the calf muscles and naked ankle Achilles tendon. They can help increase the load capacity, while be conducive to the uniform distribution of power. In addition, it also has a cushion and ankle spring that can achieve ankle flexion, can form the corresponding driving force.

The prosthetic material is very thin, while the soles of the feet with a removable design, it can make the appropriate deformation of the foot. In fact, this prosthesis is a completed art by Thomas Belhacene in 2012 at Art Center College, it won the 2013 IDSA Awards.
